Health and Safety First

Health and Safety at Little Scholar Nursery School

At Little Scholar Nursery School in Belleville, NJ, the health and safety of our children and staff are our top priorities. We adhere to stringent protocols to ensure a secure and nurturing environment for all.

Existing Health and Safety Practices

We continue to follow our existing stringent health and safety protocols, including:

  • Illness Management: Requiring any children or staff with respiratory illness symptoms or fever to return home and stay home until fever-free for at least 24 hours.

  • Sanitization: Frequent disinfecting and sanitizing of high-touch toys and surfaces.

  • Hand Hygiene: Frequent handwashing by children and staff, embedded in our curriculum and daily staff protocols.

  • Training: Training teachers on common signs of illness in children, with signage in every classroom to keep signs of illness top of mind.

  • Continuous Education: Continuous health & safety training for staff, including first aid and CPR certification.

Enhanced Health and Safety Practices

In response to health concerns, we have implemented enhanced procedures to limit the spread of illness:

  • Restricted Access: Limiting the people who enter the building to current team members and enrolled families only.

  • Classroom Cohorts: Minimizing combining children from different classrooms.

  • Temperature Monitoring: Conducting temperature checks and maintaining logs for children and staff.

  • Contactless Drop-off/Pick-up: Implementing external drop-off and pick-up of children.

  • Increased Hygiene Measures: Increasing the frequency of handwashing and sanitization of frequently touched surfaces and toys.

Why Health and Safety Matter

At Little Scholar, we believe that a safe and healthy environment is the foundation for effective learning and development. Our comprehensive health and safety measures ensure that children can explore, learn, and grow with confidence, knowing they are in a secure setting.
